Guava Marketing Group
Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
The short version: this website sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or social tracking pixels. We don't build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anyone who'd want one.
Who this covers
This policy covers Guava Marketing Group and its sub-brand Local MRKT — this website, the Local MRKT market pages, and the Local MRKT event manager used by our own team and market organisers.
It doesn't cover the events themselves. If you meet us at a market, apply as a vendor, or become a client, information you give us there is handled under the agreement or form you signed, not under this page.
What we collect on this website
Browsing these pages: nothing we keep. There is no account to make, no newsletter sign-up, no analytics script and no advertising tag anywhere on the site.
The contact form
The "Got a sweet idea?" form on our home page does not send anything to us over the internet. When you press send, it opens your own email app with the message pre-filled and you choose whether to send it. Nothing leaves your device unless you do that, and we never see a half-finished message.
If you do email us, we receive what you wrote plus your email address, in our Gmail inbox. We keep that correspondence as long as the conversation or the working relationship is useful, and we don't add you to any mailing list from it.
Applying as a Local MRKT vendor
Vendor applications are handled on third-party form services, which is why the "Become a vendor" buttons take you off this site. Whatever you enter there goes to that provider and then to us. Read that form's own privacy notice before you fill it in — it governs what happens on their side.
Cookies and local storage
Guava sets no cookies. Not functional ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. There is nothing on this site to opt out of, because there is nothing switched on.
We do use one entry in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and is never sent anywhere:
| Key | What it's for |
|---|---|
| guava:consent | Your answer to the dialog below — all if you let Google Maps load, essential if you didn't. It's the only reason we don't ask you again on every page. |
The one thing we ask you
The first time you visit, you'll get a short dialog. It isn't a cookie banner — there are no cookies to accept. It asks one question: may the Google Maps on our market pages load? Press Accept and continue and they work normally from then on. Press Not now and they stay switched off, with a button on each map if you change your mind about that one.
Either answer is remembered and the dialog won't come back. To change it later, use the Privacy choices link at the bottom of any page. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain resets it too, and the site works normally without it.
Third parties your browser contacts
A few things on this site are served by other companies. Here is the whole list — there is nothing else.
| Who | What they do and what they see |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the site (Cloudflare Pages) and absorbs attack traffic. As the host it necessarily handles your IP address and basic request information to deliver pages and keep the site up. |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typefaces. Google receives your IP address and browser details when the fonts load. Google Fonts sets no cookies. |
| Google Maps | Off until you ask. Each market page shows a placeholder instead of a map. If you press "Load the map", Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. If you never press it, Google Maps is never contacted. |
| Supabase | Stores the market and event listings the Local MRKT pages read. Your browser fetches that list, so Supabase sees the request; nothing about you is written to it. |
Links to Instagram and to external vendor forms are ordinary links. Nothing from those services is embedded here, so they learn nothing about you until you click through.
The Local MRKT event manager
The manager at localmrktmanager.pages.dev is a working tool, not a public page. Only approved organisers can sign in.
- Signing in uses Supabase Auth, which stores the email address of each approved editor and a session token in that person's browser so they stay signed in.
- Editors' changes to market and event listings are recorded in the same database.
- Access is granted and removed by us. If you're an organiser and you want your account closed, email us and we'll remove it.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or trade your information. There is no arrangement under which that could happen.
- Run behavioural advertising, retargeting pixels or cross-site tracking.
- Add you to a mailing list because you emailed us about something else.
Your rights
Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA, and Ontario law where it applies) gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected if it's wrong, and to withdraw consent for us to keep using it. Email us and we'll handle it — we'll confirm we received your request and come back to you within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
Our markets and events are family affairs and kids are very welcome at them. This website, though, isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we add something to the site that changes any of the above — an analytics tool, a booking system, an embedded feed — we'll update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live, not after.
